The main research topics of the Hector-Center are clinical and experimental studies regarding cancer, obesity, food intolerances, short gut syndrome/chronic intestinal failure, and microbiota. Our translational projects always aim at improving the patients’ therapy. The diagnosis of food intolerances is often lengthy and difficult due to the different underlying pathogenesis and the lack of valid parameters. One of our research focuses is the investigation and establishment of diagnostic markers.
Your tasks:
We are looking for excellent and highly motivated applicants with a profound knowledge of cell biological, molecular biological, experimental methods for our lab in INZ at Universitätsklinikum Erlangen. The main aim of the project is to analyze underlying pathological processes in food intolerances with our established ex vivo human organoid model. The applicant will further support our research on the effects of food antigens or phytochemicals in cell culture and organoids and their effects on the immune system.
Essential experience/qualifications:
- PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, or comparable studies
- Experience with cellular and molecular biology methods
- Experience in immunology and FACS analysis is of advantage
- Experience in genomics and proteomics
- Statistics and data management
- Ability as team player and open to new hypotheses
Comments:
- Pay grade is determined depending on qualifications and personal requirements according to TV-L E13. The position is initially for a fixed term of 2 years with possibility of extension. The position is full time. The starting date is as soon as possible.
