Your added value:

• Education: Degree in (Business) Informatics, Data Science or comparable qualification
• Web & Backend: excellent knowledge of Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, common frameworks (Spring, Angular/React), REST APIs & web technologies
• Data Know-how: extensive experience with data modeling, ETL processes & data analysis (e.g. with SQL, Python/Pandas, Apache Kafka/Spark) as well as a deep understanding of data quality & structuring.
• AI affinity:Basic knowledge or initial experience with machine learning, NLP or computer vision; ideally in combination with Java or Python.
• Visualization: extensive knowledge of tools such as Power BI, Grafana or D3.js for the implementation of dashboards, reports & visual analytics.
• Food service know-how (plus point): ideally knowledge of industry-specific processes & data structures, e.g. POS systems, kitchen management, goods flows, HACCP, personnel planning
• Cloud & DevOps: several years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), CI/CD, Docker, GitLab; ideally also container orchestration.
• Architectural understanding: very good experience with microservices, interface architectures & possibly data lake or streaming architectures.
• Projects: excellent experience in project work and customer relations, high level of personal responsibility, structured work style and strong customer focus
• Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally on-site (e.g., to customers or our office)
• Soft Skills: structured, proactive team player with a hands-on mentality and enthusiasm for digital innovation in a real-world environment
• Languages: very good German (at least B2/C1) & good English (B1/B2)

Your tasks:

• Develop & Evaluate: You will develop sophisticated Java & web applications with a focus on structured & unstructured data collection & evaluation, especially in the context of food service businesses such as system or company catering.
• Data Pipelines: You design and implement ETL processes and develop robust data pipelines, including the integration of external data sources and interfaces, e.g., POS, sensors, ERP.
• AI Integration: You integrate machine learning models (e.g., for forecasting, classification, or anomaly detection) and support training, deployment, and monitoring.
• Data visualization: You develop dashboards and reports – for clients and management – ​​to present analysis results in a meaningful way. You also keep track of KPIs, time series, and branch comparisons at all times.
• Domain understanding of gastronomy: You work with data-driven solutions to optimize processes in system and company catering, e.g. regarding the use of goods, table occupancy, process times or branch key figures.
• Collaboration: You will work closely with data scientists, AI developers & customer teams on innovative solutions in the gastronomy & food sector.
• Project work: You will independently manage all project phases from requirements analysis and implementation to testing, commissioning & support.
