Your roleAs a Team Leader Purchase (m/w/d), you will take operational and strategic responsibility for a dedicated purchasing team in the field of custom machine building for industrial fastening technology. You will ensure timely and cost-effective procurement for projects in the Motor Vehicle Industry (MVI) and General Industry (GI), while driving process improvements and collaborating closely with technical departments. Additionally, you will support purchasing activities across our Customer and Application Centers throughout Europe, contributing to harmonized processes and supplier collaboration on a broader scale. You will report to the Operations Manager Application Center CE Industrial Technique.
You will
- Manage daily procurement operations: demand planning, quotation analysis, ordering, and delivery tracking.
- Lead and develop the purchasing team with a focus on performance, motivation, and skill-building.
- Ensure material availability for ongoing projects, balancing quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate closely with technical departments to clarify specifications and requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and initiate improvement actions where needed.
- Drive process optimization and support digitalization initiatives.
- Prepare and analyze procurement KPIs and derive actions for efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and legal regulations.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, ideally in a project-related environment.
- Strong technical understanding and experience with technical specifications.
- Proven leadership experience and change management skills.
- Confident negotiation and communication across all levels.
- Hands-on mentality and solution-oriented mindset.
- Experience working in international and cross-functional teams.
- Degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or a commercially relevant technical field; alternatively, a business degree with proven technical expertise.
- Fluent in German and English.
- Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and modern procurement tools.

This role requires you to mainly work on-site at our office in Essen, Germany (DE) with the possibility to work remotely according to our mobile office policies. You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
