About the role

From here, you’ll help shape the core of commercial operations at RWE Supply & Trading, playing a hands-on role in the company’s energy transition journey. This is your chance to gain meaningful, practical experience at the heart of Europe’s energy sector, collaborating daily with passionate colleagues as you work to make data more accurate, reliable, and accessible. You’ll become immersed in the real-time world of trading data and finance, learning from experts and having a visible impact within a truly international setting. • Take an active role supporting core database work for our accounting operations, with responsibility for daily data updates and maintenance.
• Assist with the preparation, processing, and formatting of financial data for regular and ad-hoc reporting.
• Help engineer or refine documentation and workflows, making them clearer, more effective, and fit for the future.
• Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at process innovation and improvement.
• Learn to identify and address data accuracy and reliability challenges in a dynamic, fast-moving trading setting.

Job requirements and experience

• Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (e.g., MS SQL, Python or VBA).
• Familiarity with database work, particularly T-SQL, and a readiness to apply technical curiosity to real business challenges.
• Strong written and spoken skills in both German and English.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt, with courage to take ownership and the discipline to work independently.
• Positive, collaborative spirit and willingness to communicate openly within diverse teams.

Advantageous, but not essential

• Basic knowledge of accounting or finance principles.
• Curiosity about trading products or derivatives markets.
• Familiarity with AI tools and enthusiasm for applying new technologies to everyday tasks.
