Duties and responsibilities:
- You are responsible for continuing the development of our robotic system using state‑of‑the‑art algorithmic approaches for kinematics, control, path planning, calibration, and sensor fusion
- You balance normative, technical, and usability requirements together with our QM, regulatory, PO, and UX teams
- You work in tandem with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to remove obstacles, coordinate team efforts, and streamline workflows to increase overall productivity and quality
- You are responsible for delivering high‑quality solutions that comply with medical standards in robotics, spanning pre‑development, validation, market introduction, and product maintenance
- You will create well‑structured and maintainable software components using state‑of‑the‑art software design approaches. You will also work on system integration and support transforming our prototypes into market‑ready products
- You will lead a team of software and robotics engineers, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, mentoring, and goal setting. We expect you to work closely with the team and contribute both technically and through your leadership
- You will scout the technology landscape and bring in knowledge to ensure that our robotics competencies remain state‑of‑the‑art
- You will continue shaping the strategy for connecting robotic systems and AI
- You will be a key contributor in building a strong IP portfolio for our platform
- You will partner with other B. Braun units to mutually share expertise in the field of robotics
Professional competences:
- You are a senior leader in robotics with expert knowledge in kinematics, control, path planning, and calibration of robotic systems with up to seven degrees of freedom
- You have profound experience with complex medical devices such as surgical robots, navigation systems, or medical imaging processes, as well as experience in computer vision
- You have expert-level skills in C++ and Python
- You possess strong expertise in requirements engineering
- You have working experience in highly regulated environments (medical, aerospace, automotive) and are familiar with IEC 60601 and IEC 80601‑2‑77
- Ideally, you hold a PhD in robotics, control theory, or related disciplines
- Experience in leading teams is a plus
- Technologies we currently use include C++, Python, Qt, Eigen, OpenCV, Ruckig, ROS2, GTest/GMock, Git, Azure DevOps, Linux, and RT Linux. Experience with any of these technologies is an advantage
