Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust backend solutions using modern Java technologies as part of our platform backend team.
- Act as a technical leader within the team, ensuring high-quality code through code reviews, automated testing, and documentation.
- Drive team productivity, ensuring that all team members are effectively engaged and supported in their roles.
- Represent the development team in discussions with stakeholders and line management, acting as the primary point of contact.
- Facilitate communication and information flow within the team and across departments.
- Support and mentor team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
- Identify and escalate issues proactively to ensure smooth delivery and team alignment.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and the evaluation of new technologies and frameworks.
Profile
- Several years of professional experience in Java development, ideally in distributed systems and platform services.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs (OpenAPI), secure coding (incl. TLS/certificates & cryptography e.g. encryption, JWT), JUnit and ideally tools like Gradle/Maven, Quarkus , Consul, Traefik, Keycloak, Artemis.
- Strong understanding of relational databases (e.g. Oracle, MS SQL, ...)
- Proven experience in agile software development and working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide and align a team.
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative working style.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approx. 5 %).
