Working Student in Automation and Data Analysis with Excel VBA (f/m/d)

ITM is a privately owned biotechnology and radiopharmaceutical group of companies dedicated to the development, production and global supply of targeted diagnostic and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotopes for use in cancer treatment. We are developing a proprietary portfolio and growing pipeline of targeted treatments in various stages of clinical development addressing cancers such as neuroendocrine cancers or bone metastases. Our main objectives are to significantly improve treatment outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients through a new generation of Targeted Radionuclide Therapies in Precision Oncology. The headquarters are located in the heart of the research center of the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

We would like to fill the following permanent vacancy in a onsite working model in Garchingas soon as possible

• Develop and maintain Excel VBA macros for process automation
• Write structured, reusable VBA code including functions and subroutines
• Use control structures (e.g., If...Then, Select Case, For...Next, Do...Loop) effectively
• Implement robust error handling and use the VBA debugger to identify and fix issues
• Automate repetitive tasks such as data formatting, entry, and report generation
• Build and manage dynamic named ranges
  Design and implement UserForms and custom dialog boxes
• Apply event-driven programming (e.g.,  Worksheet_Change)
• Explore object-oriented programming using class modules
• Optimize performance (e.g., disabling screen updating, setting calculation modes)
• Support basic version control practices (e.g., exporting modules, using Git with VBA)

• Student in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• Solid understanding of VBA syntax and Excel’s object model

• First hands-on experience writing and debugging VBA code

• Logical thinker with a structured approach to problem solving

• Able to work independently and take initiative

• Good communication skills, ideally with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users

• Interest in process automation and technical project work

• Strong problem-solving mindset and logical thinking

•  Ability to quickly grasp and improve existing processes

• Commitment to writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code

• Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

• Fluent in English
