In this role, you'll contribute to cutting-edge research that prioritizes high-quality small-scale cell and module testing to maximize our customers understanding of battery fires. To achieve this, we conduct misuse/abuse tests in our specialist facility, where we induce fires in batteries using our custom test rigs, as well as calorimetry investigations using our purpose-built setup.
We are growing our team and looking for you to join us! As part of Akkuracy, you will work in a friendly and dynamic environment, where you will play a critical role in preparing, setting up, and executing tests, as well as assisting with workshop and organizational tasks.
Be at the forefront of innovation and help us change the landscape of battery safety testing.
Tasks

- Preparing customer samples for testing, including installing wiring harnesses and sensors, and all other necessary preparations, e.g., charging.
- Assemble components like bespoke jigs and fixtures, cable harnesses, or junction boxes as required for test rigs.
- Provide feedback and help to improve test rigs, tools, test execution, and other processes to enhance safety and quality.
- Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and regulations during all testing procedures.
- Maintain the workshop and tools ensuring serviceablity and availablity.
Requirements
- A hands-on technical background, such as an apprenticeship (Ausbildung) as an Electrician, Mechatronics Technician, Automotive Mechanic, or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical and mechanical tasks.
- Strong practical ability, an enjoyment of hands-on work with a high level of self reliance, and physically able to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for long periods.
- Ability to communicate well in English (we are an English-speaking company).
- Desired but not required: Previous experience working with batteries. However, an interest in battery technology and a willingness to learn are expected.
Benefits
- Work with cutting-edge battery technology from leading manufacturers worldwide and gain insight into the most pressing industry challenges.
- Acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge through one-on-one training with passionate, experienced colleagues.
- Play an integral part in building, growing, and shaping the company and its culture.
- Receive (and give) regular, honest feedback.
