About the position
Head of Purchasing (m/f/d) for horticultural supplies
What lies ahead for you?
- Management and strategic alignment of the entire purchasing process at company level
- Cross-area coordination and optimisation of purchasing for all product groups
- Development and implementation of purchasing strategies to ensure efficient, needs-based and cost-effective procurement
- Identification of potential savings and continuous improvement of purchasing processes
- Selection and support of suppliers, negotiation of conditions and maintenance of long-term supplier relationships
- Close co-operation with the sales department to ensure timely procurement in line with requirements
- Carrying out market analyses, trend observations and supplier scouting
- Reporting and analysing key purchasing figures as well as preparing and implementing purchasing budgets
- Leadership and development of the purchasing team
What should you bring?
- Completed studies in the field of business administration, industrial engineering or comparable training
- Several years of professional experience in purchasing, ideally in a managerial role related to professional horticulture or the green sector
- Very good negotiation and communication skills as well as a confident demeanour
- Strong analytical skills and experience in dealing with purchasing key figures
- Assertiveness, initiative and a proactive way of working
- Leadership experience and the ability to motivate and develop a team
- Good knowledge of common ERP systems (preferably SAP) and MS Office (especially Excel)
