For an independent Swiss asset management company, regulated by FINMA, specialising in active investment strategies for international institutional and private clients.
As part of the ongoing strengthening of our operational and control framework, we are recruiting a Fund Middle Officer to join our Geneva-based team.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Operations function and working closely with Portfolio Management, Risk Management, Compliance, custodians, brokers and fund administrators, the role will include the following responsibilities:
Trade reconciliation & post-trade monitoring
- Control Daily reconciliation of securities positions and cash balances with custodians.
- Identification, investigation and resolution of reconciliation breaks, in coordination with internal and external counterparties.
- Trade matching and confirmation for equities, bonds and derivatives, including monitoring of settlement and operational follow-up.
- Trade matching and confirmation for equities, bonds, and derivatives, including operational monitoring of options, futures, and other derivatives. Responsibilities include booking checks, valuation controls, reconciliations, monitoring of settlement, and operational follow-up.
NAV Calculation Oversight
- Overseeing fund NAVs, including checks on pricing, accrued interest, FX rates, fees, corporate actions and subscriptions/redemptions.
- Analysis and explanation of significant NAV movements.
- Ongoing interaction with fund administrators to ensure accuracy, consistency and robustness of valuation data.
Foreign exchange (FX)
- Monitoring and control of FX transactions, including spot FX and share class hedging where applicable.
- Reconciliation of FX-related cash flows and coordination with custodians and counterparties.
Corporate actions
- Oversight and control of corporate actions (mandatory and voluntary).
- Verification of correct operational and accounting treatment within internal systems and by external service providers.
Reporting & process improvement
- Preparation of operational reporting (breaks, incidents, controls).
- Contribution to process improvements, documentation of controls and participation in transversal projects (systems, automation, workflow optimisation).
- Proxy voting follow-up and reporting
Profile
Education & experience
- University degree in finance, economics, banking or accounting (Bachelor or Master level).
- Proven experience (typically 3–7 years) in fund middle office, fund administration, custody or a comparable operational environment.
Technical skills
- Strong expertise in securities and cash reconciliations and full trade lifecycle understanding.
- Solid experience in NAV oversight and controls.
- Good operational knowledge of derivatives (options, futures) and FX operations.
- Strong control mindset, attention to detail and audit-ready documentation standards.
Systems & languages
- Excellent command of Excel.
- Experience with PMS / OMS / reconciliation platforms and Bloomberg is an advantage.
- English: fluent (working language)
- French: required (internal and external interactions in Switzerland)
