TotalEnergies has developed a strong expertise in oil and biofuels, natural gas and electricity trading. Trading entities are based in Geneva, Paris, Houston and Singapore.

TotalEnergies installed its European trading hub across in Geneva, which now bring together very large teams around trading activities: TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping (T&S) and TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP). T&S is the trading company in charge of all physical trading and shipping of crude oil and refined products including biofuels on behalf of TotalEnergies. It has been a major and active participant all over the supply chain as well as on the derivatives paper market to manage market risk.

We are looking to hire our new Senior Business Developer – Structured Trade Finance to join our New Ventures team based in Geneva. The New Ventures team plays a strategic role by leading the development of trading flows (physical and / or derivatives) in order to grow our business.

By joining this team, you will play a pivotal role in the sourcing, structuring, evaluation and execution of new deals and you will be at the forefront of the development of numerous relationships such as banking and non-banking counterparts.

This business-critical role is at the interface between the trading business and the wider Company at the management level (Front Office, desk heads, SVPs, corporate finance at headquarters), as well as externally, notably with CFOs of commercial counterparties and decision-makers in the financial community (banks, insurance companies, funds)

Reporting to the Head of Structured Trade Finance, you will evolve in an international and fast-paced trading & shipping environment allowing to connect with a variety of cultures worldwide.

You will be joining a multi-cultural team (Geneva, Houston, Singapore and Dubai) where the sharing of ideas, knowledge, expertise and collaboration is the root of a collective success. The role entails the full transaction process from deal origination through negotiation to execution.

In this context and in accordance with HSE rules and adherence to the compliance framework, your primary responsibility is to structure and implement transactions with a strong financial and/or investment angle that are aiming at creating mid to long-term new trading flows or enhancing existing customer relationships and contributing to bottom-line P&L of the company.

Structuring & Business Development's activities:

• Analyze new opportunities and report results to Team's Head
• Originate and structure financing transactions with liquidity providers to help finance and syndicate existing or prospective credit risk throughout TotalEnergies’s global structured and trade finance portfolio.
• Build and handle relationships with banking and non-banking counterparts (including credit funds, hedge funds, private equity and family office) as well as specialised insurance to explore and negotiate suitable structured transactions.
• Propose transaction structures that will materialize the opportunity in the most optimal way
• Build financial models for valuation and/or debt capacity determination purposes
• Assist with transactions due diligence
• Prepare information package for further internal and/or external presentation
• Champion and promote innovative financing structure enabling securing trading flows
• Help developing strategic or tactical relationships with new counterparties as required
• Ensure adequate and timely communication with other relevant functions in relation to ongoing transactions or new ones
• Help coordinate the execution of transactions
• Prepare and issue reports on existing and new transactions to relevant stakeholders
• Monitor and report on implemented transactions
• Propose new business ideas and transactions in line with the Team's strategy
• Proactively build and maintain professional network so to enhance the Team's global network

Profil der Bewerberin/des Bewerbers

• Master’s degree in Trading, Finance, Economics or equivalent
• You have minimum 10 years of professional experience working within commodities, corporate and investment banking or other relevant financial services, giving you an existing network of relevant contacts within the sector
• You have strong origination and structuring skills, with the ability to proactively solve problems and to think in a highly logical and critical fashion
• You have an advanced strategic and commercial mindset with an eye for detail
• You have sound communication and presentation skills - written and oral in English- to interact and conduct businesses with international stakeholders.
• Influential by nature you have a strong desire and ability to astutely convince business partners and stakeholders to put projects in motion and to carry them out to their completion
• You have a good sense of prioritization with capability to navigate through the complexity of a matrix organization involving many stakeholders
• Working in our team requires entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.
