Responsibilities
You will work closely with inventors from product development and corporate research to assess the patentability of inventions
You will advise internal stakeholders on strategic issues and develop IP strategies to support Sartorius business objectives
You will conduct prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses to support product development and commercialisation strategies
You will monitor competitor patents and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for the company
You prepare expert opinions and assessments on IP-relevant topics for the management
You will prepare in- and out-licensing activities and review IP-related clauses in various contracts and agreements. contracts and agreements
Promote IP training and mentoring related to Sartorius' IP strategy, internal IP workflow and IP law fundamentals
You manage IP litigation and nullity proceedings (oppositions, nullity proceedings, post-grant reviews, etc.) against the IP rights of third parties
You support M&A projects and other major strategic projects
You have successfully completed a degree in the natural sciences (preferably biochemistry, biotechnology, life sciences, biology, chemistry) or a comparable field
A qualification as a German, European or US patent attorney is an advantage
Several years of proven professional experience as an IP manager in a multinational corporate environment or from a patent law firm
Very good knowledge of international IP law in relation to the filing, defence and enforcement of IP rights, including litigation and negotiation of IP-related agreements
You are characterized by your strong negotiation and analytical skills, excellent interdisciplinary communication skills and intercultural competence for working in a multinational team
Fluency in English rounds off your profile
