Responsibilities
- Organization and co-supervision of the institute’s exercise courses, in particular the laboratory "Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering” as well as the laboratories in the fields of electrical drive systems and electrical machines.
- Further development of teaching: design of new exercise courses, modernization of existing experiments, and didactic preparation of teaching materials.
- Development of analytical and numerical models to address research questions in electrical drive engineering and electrical machines, including implementation in commercially available software tools and their coupling.
- Research on modular and integrated drive concepts with a focus on thermal management, novel materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Techno-economic optimization of electrical energy conversion systems — ranging from safety-critical applications and fault-tolerant distributed systems to low-cost concepts.
- Preparation and writing of a doctoral dissertation.
- Participation in the institute’s administrative tasks (e.g., involvement in national and international professional committees and organizations).
Admission Requirements
Completed Master’s or Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field.
Very good command of German and English.
Desired Qualification
- Strong initiative and enthusiasm for independently driving topics forward.
- Systematic and structured working style (modeling, documentation, evaluation).
- Curiosity and motivation to think engineering problems through to a solution.
- High ability to work in a team. Interest in interdisciplinary topics.

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,865.40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
