Join our Inhouse-Team as an open-minded and versatile Consultant (m/f/d) and contribute to our mission to create development opportunities by making mining a responsible venture. We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and communicative colleague, who is willing and able to dedicate his/her abilities and networks to the different projects and services.
Your tasks
- Acquisition of new projects, including elaboration and coordination of technical and financial proposals in the field of responsible mining and sourcing;
- Management of ongoing projects and studies (backstopping) on site and Hamburg/home-based (financial and technical administration, monitoring and evaluation of projects and studies);
- Networking with donor agencies, private clients, beneficiaries, partner companies, subcontractors and experts;
- Conducting technical short-term consultancy assignments in your field of expertise;
- Elaboration of reports, concepts and presentations and contribution to knowledge and quality management;
- Active contribution to the further development of our work on "CRM value chains”, covering governance, technical and financial dimensions;
- Representing Projekt-Consult in conferences and seminars.
Your profile
- University degree (MA) in engineering, economics, environmental sciences or other relevant fields;
- At least 3 years of consulting or industry experience in the raw material sector (exploration, mining, refining) for private or public clients;
- Familiarity with the value chain of a variety of commodities (copper-cobalt, 3T minerals, bauxite, REE, lithium, nickel), ideally also with other energy transition minerals;
- Understanding of international policies on critical raw materials (CRMs) ;
- Work experience in the Global South is an asset;
- Experience in the design and implementation of technical or financial cooperation projects (e.g., GIZ, EU, EIB, World Bank) is an asset;
- Advanced experience in political economic analysis and systematic thinking skills;
- Proficiency in stakeholder management, facilitation, and multi-actor coordination platforms;
- Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills in English and French is a prerequisite; at least intermediate level in German (B1) is considered an asset;
- High degree of self-organisation and initiative;
- Intercultural competence and willingness to travel internationally, primarily to Africa;
- Ability to manage complex situations under tight schedules.
