Your tasks:
- Architect Cloud Solutions: Lead the transition to a cloud-based data platform, innovating beyond our existing on-premise solutions.
- Build & Engineer: Enable seamless migration and optimization of data flows using cutting-edge tools like Kafka, AWS S3, Snowflake, and Airflow.
- Champion Data Governance: Establish rigorous data governance practices to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with data scientists, business analysts, and IT staff within our vibrant data community to continuously advance our tech prowess.
- Secure Performance: Develop a scalable, highly available data infrastructure with a keen focus on performance.
- Optimize Costs: Manage infrastructure costs effectively while maintaining system excellence and reliability.
Your skills:
- Proven Experience: 5+ years in software or data engineering, with significant expertise in building resilient data systems.
- Technical Mastery: Proficiency in Python (or Java), SQL, and a good understanding of cloud services architecture, with focus on AWS and Snowflake scalability and resilience.
- Hands-On Expertise: In-depth experience with cloud-based data warehousing, especially Snowflake, and transformation frameworks like DBT. Real-time data streaming knowledge, including Kafka.
- Migration Expertise: Demonstrable success in moving complex data workflows to the cloud. Skilled in transforming Spark-based processes in Scala to run efficiently on Snowflake using Snowpark, or in re-engineering them into DBT jobs.
- Governance Acumen: Solid command of data governance, encompassing data quality, cataloging, lineage, and compliance adherence.
- Team Synergy: A team player eager to learn, share knowledge, and excel in English communication across the organization.
