The role drives tesa ’s Data transformation by steering a transparent and strategically aligned Data portfolio, enabling effective Data Governance, prioritization, and cross-functional delivery. Acting as a connector between Business, DIT, and the broader data community, orchestrates the Data Governance framework and supports the establishment of enterprise-wide data governance. The role ensures organizational readiness through change management, empowers data democratization via tools like the Data Catalog and facilitates alignment through key governance - ultimately enabling tesa to scale data-driven value creation across the company following the corporate strategy

Portfolio Management & Governance

• Ensure transparency, prioritization, and progress tracking across the global Data Management including budget discussions, escalation handling, and bi‑weekly reporting.
• Prepare and deliver portfolio presentations for decision‑making bodies and leadership.

Data Governance across tesa

• Lead the operational and strategic development of the Data governance framework, aligning processes, structures, and collaboration models between Business and DIT.
• Orchestrate & lead a Globally cross-functional community of Data experts & leads data transformation initiatives.

Data transformation Leadership

• Drive change management for the Self Service Enablement under DIT Governance, including communication planning, stakeholder alignment, readiness activities, and building ownership for new processes and governance models.
• Support capability uplift by facilitating knowledge sharing and consistent enablement practices.

Data Governance, Data Catalog & Data Democratization

• Lead the rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of the Data Catalog and data democratization platform across the organization.
• Contribute to data governance standards, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and compliance of data assets

Technical qualifications

• 5 to 8+ years’ experience in an IT or development environment, with a solid understanding of end‑to‑end development processes in modern Analytics ecosystems.

• Strong understanding of enterprise Data & Analytics governance frameworks, including data ownership models, metadata management, and data cataloging practices.

• Experience in portfolio and demand management for Data & Analytics initiatives, including prioritization, feasibility assessment, and stakeholder alignment.

• Proficiency with data platforms and integration concepts, such as SQL‑based sources, Snowflake, SAP BW/ODP, Datasphere, and data readiness evaluation.

• Hands-on knowledge of BI and self-service analytics ecosystems, particularly governed environments, semantic models, and workspace standards (e.g., Power BI, SAC).

• Practical experience with data democratization tools, including data catalogs, data lineage, and data quality monitoring, enabling scalable organizational adoption.
