Junior Software Engineer(m/w/d) Data & APIs

Your task

You will design and implement the backend APIs for our real-time personalization models, which form the backbone of our app and web shop. These systems are designed to handle high loads and function reliably at all times. Together with your colleagues on the product team, you will ensure the deployment and operation of these solutions to provide our customers with a smooth and impressive experience.

Your contribution

You'll use your knowledge of software engineering and data processing to develop solutions for exciting personalization and machine learning use cases. You'll find the right method to solve specific business problems and think through the use cases from A to Z.

Your environment

You will work in an agile team consisting of product managers, data scientists, and data and software engineers. Together, you will be responsible for the development, deployment, and operation of technically advanced data solutions and APIs. The team is part of our AI & Data Science domain, which is responsible for the development of statistical and machine learning models.

Your freedom

You will actively contribute your ideas and, together with your product team, shape the further development of our data solutions. You will independently test and evaluate innovative methods and technologies. You will take responsibility for the developed APIs and models and shape the growing portfolio of data solutions.

Your training

You have completed a degree in computer science, data science, (business) mathematics or a comparable qualification.

Your experience

You have relevant professional experience in software engineering with a strong focus on data solutions and APIs. Nice to have: You have already implemented backend systems and APIs into productive data and business processes.

Your skills

You have experience developing with Golang or Java and are familiar with common frameworks such as Spring Boot. Experience with SQL and Python as well as knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform are a plus. You regularly acquire new skills and information on data methods and have good written and spoken English skills.

Your soft skills

You are curious and open to learning and exploring new things. You also enjoy working as a team player in a cross-functional, agile team and enjoy developing innovative solutions for challenging business use cases. With a strong affinity for data and a thirst for discovery, you communicate complex issues clearly, present yourself confidently, and impress with your communication skills.
