For one of our clients, an oil trading company, we are seeking to recruit a Middle Distillates Trader to be based in Hamburg or Zug (Hamburg is prefered).

Key responsibilities:

• Trading Strategy & Execution: Develop and execute sophisticated trading strategies for middle distillates, with a primary focus on the NWE/ARA and Mediterranean regions
• Position Management: Proactively manage physical and/or paper positions, aligning with market opportunities and internal risk frameworks
• Relationship Management: Build, maintain, and expand robust commercial relationships with suppliers, customers, and key trading partners
• Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market fundamentals, cargo flows, arbitrage opportunities, and price developments to inform and support profitable trading decisions
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with Operations, Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure efficient trade execution and adherence to all policies and regulations
• Commercial Development: Actively contribute to the commercial growth and strategic initiatives of the trading desk
• Reporting: Provide timely and accurate reports on positions, exposures, and critical market insights

Your profile:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven trading experience in middle distillates, with a preference for mid-level to senior profiles
• Market Expertise: Strong exposure and understanding of the NWE, ARA, and Mediterranean markets
• Track Record: Demonstrated success in managing positions and consistently generating commercial value
• Skills: Highly analytical, decisive, and comfortable thriving in fast-paced market environments
• Language: Mandatory German language skills
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build and maintain high-quality counterparty relationships
• Mindset: A proactive mindset, strong commercial drive, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
• Availability: Available to start as soon as possible
