Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Support the development of science-based and holistic direction and targets for selected sustainability topics as an integral part of adidas’ sustainability strategy, which is focused around decarbonization, nature and circularity.
Ensure that necessary guidance is available to relevant parts of the organization, enabling them to execute agreed actions within our sustainability program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the development of sustainability guidelines in close collaboration with other business functions
- Support the development of nature targets and the reporting on nature metrics by conducting sustainability related research and assessments using tools such as LCAs, water and biodiversity assessments
- Support in the elaboration of content for the Annual Report, corporate website and external purposes as needed
- Create business cases and carry out benchmarking related to nature topics
- Manage the development of internal training material and provide facts and data for internal and external communication

- Expertise with sustainability frameworks such as Accountability Framework, SBTi, SBTN, and also with corporate reporting frameworks related to sustainability
- Ability to collate and analyze complex datasets to deliver concise message supporting adidas sustainability strategy
- Expertise in impact and life-cycle assessments with a special focus on water and nature
- Experience with analyzing remote sensing data using statistical analysis software, image analysis software, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a plus
- Understanding of industries with highly complex supply chains such as consumer goods industries, textile and footwear industry
- Knowledge of product creation and materials is a plus
- Well-versed in multicultural environments, working in projects with x-functional teams
• Effective communication skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Prerequisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Four-year university degree, preferably master’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, geography, biology or related fields
- Minimum 4 years’ work experience in sustainability with a focus on impact assessments in one or more areas: decarbonization, nature and circularity
