Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Sales Development team develops best-in-class and future oriented tools, processes, policies and guidance to enable the markets to achieve operational excellence and commercial success. As part of the Sales Development team you will act as reliable, supportive and visionary partner for all markets globally, our x-functional stakeholders as well as the Global Sales/ WHS team including Senior Management.

Key Responsibilities: (to be performed in alignment with global and local guidelines)

  • Drive the creation and implementation of best practices, policies and processes to set the standard of operational excellence globally and support achieving the company goals
  • Project Management: Execute, coordinate and scale cross functional Sales projects e.g.: Commercial Front End
  • Report, track and monitor the execution of Wholesale Transformation pillar - FEWER. Create and implement a process for tracking, monitoring, and capturing input on market and country level for Fewer planning and reporting and for service levels implementation.
  • Wholesale Primary Data – key component to the planning, reporting, and strategic sales decisions within adidas
  • Drive the creation of solutions, applications, and standardization of customer primary data to ensure accurate and consistent information (Commercial Front End project)
  • Answer internal questions regarding application of Customer Primary Data
  • Lead global requests and communication with markets to ensure consistent usage of Customer Primary Data fields and definitions from a global perspective
  • Develop understanding and impact of Customer Primary Data on planning, reporting, logistical, and various technical systems
  • Represent Global Wholesale in the x-functional Customer Primary Data network
  • Subject matter expert on Customer mapping including enhancing and further improving and adapting the Global approach as per company strategy and industry trends
  • Support on various occurring and ad hoc tasks, e.g. preparation of updates for SLT, Market or Board meetings, prepare analysis, collect input, business cases and best practices from markets.
  • Practice standard project management approach and effective communication and s upport with tracking of project progress
  • Support to organize workshops with markets and global functions
  • Build trustworthy relationships and an effective and collaborative network across channels and departments
  • Act as team player and collaborate with other project team members
  • Set personal ambitious objectives and guidelines and assess regularly

Key Relationships:

  • Global: Global Sales (WHS, DTC, DPC, DSS), IT Wholesale, Sales Finance, Business Development, Global Sales PMO, HR, Corporate Solutions, GBS, GDM
  • Markets: Market Sales Development, Sales Coordination, Sales Directors and further respective support functions depending on the project
  • External Partners/ Agencies

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Operational Wholesale Market experience (e.g. KA Management/ Field, Sales Coordination, Customer Service) is a plus
  • Commercial knowledge, business acumen and good understanding of Wholesale processes
  • Strong communication skills: written, oral and presentation
  • Analytical, planning and organizational skills (e.g. project management, advanced xls skills)
  • Pragmatic approach with the ability to distinguish between the level of research needed to achieve the desired results
  • Creative, open-minded, agile and reliable team player
  • Mental flexibility, initiative and determination
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Skills and abilities in another language are a benefit

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in business, ideally with Sales/Marketing or Retail focus
  • Minimum 4 years experience in the sporting goods or comparable industry
  • Cross-functional experience with Marketing/ Finance/ Global Operations/ Customer Service
  • Experience within different countries and/or different cultures
  • Experience in Project Management
  • Experience in Business Systems & Processes (SAP, CRM, B2B) is a must
