We are looking for a highly skilled CAD Engineer to join our team and contribute to innovative automotive design projects. This role requires expertise in CAD modeling, design optimization, and collaboration across multiple departments to ensure high-quality deliverables that meet cost, timing, and technical requirements.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct design tasks while considering defined costs and deadlines.
- Support value analysis and develop concepts for cost reductions.
- Gather and manage design-relevant information from internal departments, customers, and suppliers.
- Create surface and solid models based on internal and external requirements, ensuring quality of 3D models and drawings.
- Provide illustrations and drawings according to standards and coordinate with internal/external teams.
- Act as package responsible, perform package checks, and document results.
- Document design revisions in CAD reports and maintain CAD data structure in PLM systems within project timelines.
- Support feasibility studies and participate in D-FMEA reviews.
- Inspect external design results for data structure and model quality.
- Prepare design-relevant specifications.
- Support prototype build phases and apply lessons learned to optimize CAD models.
- Conduct exchange and transformation of CAD data.
- Assist in developing design guidelines and technical standards.
- Provide on-site CAD support at customer locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in CAD design within the automotive industry (Tier-One experience preferred).
- Proficiency in CATIA V5, NX, or similar CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, PLM systems, and automotive packaging requirements.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with D-FMEA processes.
- Familiarity with prototype build phases and design optimization.
- Ability to manage complex CAD data structures and ensure compliance with standards.
