Electrical Engineer – High Voltage Micro?Welding Systems
Details:
Compensation: $95,000 -100,000 with benefits
We’re hiring an Electrical Engineer to support high?voltage micro?welding systems used in EV battery manufacturing . This role focuses on designing, integrating, and supporting electrical and controls systems that enable safe, repeatable, high?quality welding in high?volume production environments.
What You’ll Do
- Design and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems for laser and resistance micro?welding equipment
- Support high?voltage flex circuits for battery cells, modules, and packs
- Integrate and support PLCs, HMIs, motion control, safety PLCs (Allen?Bradley / Siemens)
- Ensure compliance with NFPA 79, IEC, UL , and high?voltage safety standards
- Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, launches, and production ramp?up
- Drive improvements in OEE, FPY, reliability, and weld quality
- Support weld monitoring, traceability, MES integration , and quality documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP)
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics , or related field
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in automotive or EV battery manufacturing
- Hands?on experience with laser and/or resistance micro?welding
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN , Allen?Bradley or Siemens PLCs , and industrial networks
- Strong troubleshooting, safety, and cross?functional communication skills
Nice to Have
- EV battery cell/module/pack experience
- Knowledge of battery tab micro?welding (Cu?Al, Cu?Ni, Al?Al)
- Class 4 laser safety experience or certification
- MES, weld data analytics, or traceability experience
