Postdoc (f/m/x)
(full-time, 40h per week)
in the IQOQI junior research group “Theoretical Quantum Simulation” for the project „QS-Gauge“ led by Ass.-Prof. Torsten Zache.
Your Tasks
· Theoretical research in quantum simulation of non-abelian lattice gauge theories
· Writing scientific publications
· Presenting latest scientific results at international conferences and workshops
· Supporting supervision of PhD, master and bachelor students
Your Profile
· PhD degree in physics with focus on theoretical quantum physics and demonstrated experience in at least two of the following subjects
o Quantum computing with qudits, quantum error correction
o Quantum optics of trapped ions and Rydberg atoms
o Numerical tensor network methods
o Topological order and (de)confinement in stringnet models
o Quantum field theory, lattice gauge theory
· Excellent communications in spoken and written English

The minimum annual gross salary for this position is EUR 70.167,44 (full-time based), in accordance with the collective agreement of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). For part-time employment, the salary will be adjusted on a pro rata basis in line with the agreed working hours.
