Your Duties:

• In this role, you will play a key part in identifying and leveraging technological trends in the field of optics
• Technology Scouting: Identify and gather relevant information from leading universities, companies, and startups in the field of optics—particularly in optical communications, display technologies, AR/VR, optical sensing, and imaging
• Academic Engagement: Attend technical conferences and presentations, engage with speakers, and promptly produce analytical reports highlighting cutting-edge innovations and high-potential technology ideas
• Trend and Market Analysis: Evaluate emerging technologies for their innovation potential and business relevance, and provide strategic recommendations
• Knowledge Sharing: Organize and facilitate internal knowledge-sharing sessions such as seminars, workshops, and expert talks
• Technology Partnerships: Support the identification and assessment of promising technology leads, and contribute to the initiation of technical collaborations and projects
• Internal Communication: Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders
• Networking: Build and maintain relationships with renowned academic organizations (e.g., IEEE Photonics, EOS, PhotonHUB) and connect with key members and experts
• Collaboration Formats: Support the planning and execution of engagement activities with universities and companies, including technical demonstrations and workshops

Your Qualifications:

• Relevant industry experience
• Master's degree or higher in Optics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. A Ph.D. in physics or optics is strongly preferred
• In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable: pptical communication, display technologies, AR/VR systems, optical sensing and imaging technologies
• Solid understanding of short-reach optical communication, data center interconnects, photonic components, and fiber optic networks
• Strong ability to evaluate technological breakthroughs and assess their commercial potential
• Proven skills in identifying challenges, conducting systematic analysis and working in a goal-oriented manner
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Proficiency in additional languages, especially German, advantageous
