Are administration and organization your thing? Then the Technical Department (TB) is the right place for you! TB provides all infrastructure services for the Research Center. As we are committed to ecological sustainability in campus development, you will support us in ensuring the overarching interests of the Research Center and its employees. Variety and a constant stream of new challenges define our everyday life. If you want to help shape administration and work on the revolution from paper-based offices to digitalization, then you will fit in perfectly with our team. In the Real Estate and Contract Management department, many tasks are bundled and centrally managed with the aim of providing workplaces (offices and laboratories) in the form of renting external properties. The development of solution options for the strategic orientation of the department and resource management as part of the "Management of external properties" project is another field of activity in the department.

Real Estate Manager (f/m/d)

Your tasks:

  • a professional and timely handling of issues.
  • You are one of the key figures who supports a wide range of partners - from stakeholders to participants - and thus make a significant contribution to the successful handling of a wide variety of real estate issues
  • Your passion for the real estate world and your intuition for Forschungszentrum Jülich will lead you to acquire suitable properties and premises that perfectly match the center's requirements
  • Through your skill in discussions with commercial owners, brokers and other experts, you create a dynamic network to find optimal real estate solutions
  • With your professional understanding, you will not only draft contracts in accordance with the highest legal standards together with the Legal division, but also ensure that usage agreements are fair and transparent, including for residents and neighbors
  • You design a systematic database structure that serves as the basis for meaningful evaluations and statistics and thus efficiently supports decision-making processes
  • With your eye for detail, you always keep an eye on financial flows and create clear budget plans and payment schedules to manage deposits and rents on time
  • Your ability to document extensive information clearly and accurately is reflected in detailed reports on all contract data, which are a valuable source of information for the research center
  • In addition, you will take on quality and operations-related tasks, act as a quality assistant in the quality management system (QMS) and support the operation of Forschungszentrum Jülich's "Guest House" property

Your profile:

  • Completed technical/university degree (Bachelor) in real estate or facility management, business law, business administration or comparable field of study
  • Knowledge of federal and state budget and procurement law, economic planning in the public sector, relevant laws and real estate and tenancy law
  • Knowledge of operator responsibility and facility management (ideally taking into account relevant guidelines, e.g. GEFMA)
  • Experience in dealing with real estate management processes and projects
  • Confident handling of data preparation and presentation as well as the graphical and visual representation of complex issues
  • Good knowledge of English
  • Willingness to travel on business
  • Structured, careful and independent way of working
