The Position
The Roche site in Kaiseraugst is a key hub within our global production and logistics network. With over 1900 employees, it hosts the largest and most advanced packaging operation within Roche. Within this dynamic environment, we are looking for a Business Application & Information Management Expert with a strong focus on Finished Goods and Supply Chain Management.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will actively contribute to the development and optimization of systems and processes supporting serialization, digital traceability, and compliant production execution. You will be responsible for serialization systems, working closely with global teams and local interfaces, and ensuring regulatory and technical readiness for ongoing and future initiatives.
You will act as a local Systems Specialist, coordinating updates, supporting validation, managing documentation, and serving as a key interface between production, automation, IT, and global partners. You will support the implementation of new concepts to improve production processes in supply chain and manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Serve as System Specialist for Serialization systems (e.g., Laetus, OPAL, Advanced Track and Trace for Pharmaceuticals (ATTP)), managing interfaces, suppliers, local projects, and software updates.
- Coordinate activities with Automation and IT (Level 1–3) and ensure serialization system alignment with global processes.
- Support the Computer System Validation through documentation, testing and qualification activities.
- Conduct technical feasibility studies together with project and engineering teams.
- Support the creation and review of project documentation (User Requirment specification (URS), validation protocols, risk assessments).
- Work with systems such as Master Data Management System (MDMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Executions System (MES), ATTP and Supply Chain Control (SCC) to clarify technical requirements.
- Support product launches by defining and implementing serialization instructions and modular test orders.
- Contribute to productivity and cost optimization projects through system-specific enhancements.
- Create and maintain system operation manuals and business documentation while coordinating integration into existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct testing and maintain the Finished Goods & SCM-specific lab environment.
Who You Are
Do you have at least 5-10 years of experience in a regulated production environment and a degree in a technical field (or equivalent qualification)?
We seek an individual with hands-on expertise in serialization and digital production systems and an understanding of the interface between business processes and IT systems.
You have experience in project work, system validation, and technical documentation. You are solution-oriented, communicative, and thrive in cross-functional collaboration.
Further competencies and qualifications:
- You are proficient in German and English (spoken and written) and comfortable interacting in both local and global settings.
- Knowledge of systems such as MES, ERP, SCC, ATTP is a plus.
- Familiarity with GMP principles and CSV methods is desirable.
- Willingness to travel to suppliers (approx. 10-20%).
