Beschreibung
Walking robots use a number of different sensor modalities, e.g. Video and Lidar, typically in the form of images and 3D point clouds. This sensor data is used to perceive and navigate through the environment. For this, the information of the different sensors has to be combined using sensor fusion to create a map of the environment. Additionally, sensor and map data of the environment can be enhanced with semantic information to improve the intelligent navigation of walking robots in different environments. Your Task and Research Challenges
Design, Implementation and Evaluation of Deep Learning pipelines
- Prepare multimodal robot datasets
- Setup training and evaluation pipelines
- Deploy approaches on the robot
Work on diverse robotic perception and scene understanding tasks
- Anomaly/Semantic Segmentation
- LiDAR super-resolution
- Multimodal Machine Learning approaches (VLMs, VLAs, etc.)
Support with lectures on Robotics and AI
- Support on creation of lecture materials
- Tutoring of students during tasks What we offer
- You'll get to learn a lot about our current research and gain real hands-on experience.
- We use the latest robotics hardware and newest ML libraries, as well as tools like NVIDIA Isaac Lab, ROS2, etc.
- We are a team of international, motivated robotics enthusiasts and would be happy to have you join us.
- You will get a encouraging support from your supervisor and honest feedback to improve your skills.
- We offer flexible working hours and a great working environment in our MaiRo Lab.
- Possibility of a subsequent thesis.
