Your Tasks

As head of the team responsible for our private cloud platform, you will be responsible for the further development and operation of one of the largest private Kubernetes bare-metal cloud infrastructures in Europe. The team is part of our modern platform organization, where we lay the foundations for our modern software architecture. In close coordination with users, stakeholders and other teams, we develop powerful infrastructure and tooling for our DevOps world.

In addition to Kubernetes, Istio and Calico, the technology stack also includes tools such as GitLab CI, Vault, Prometheus and many others. With over 50,000 CPU cores and 1,000 servers, we efficiently provide almost 1,000 software applications with highly available and dynamic IT performance - sustainably for our more than 42 million mail & cloud users.

Your responsibility:

• Strategic leadership: You lead, develop and support a team of currently 9 highly qualified and experienced System Engineers.
• Innovation and technology: You are passionate about innovative automation, infrastructure-as-code and self-service cloud platforms. State-of-the-art technologies and working methods are a priority for you.
• Leading-by-Example: You are a role model for personal responsibility/ownership, collaboration and service mentality.
• Stakeholder Engagement: You actively establish and shape a close and trusting relationship with stakeholders to achieve optimal alignment and the best possible support for our products and services.

Your Profile

Do you have a technical degree or a comparable qualification? Leadership is not just a career step for you? Are you passionate about innovation, infrastructure-as-code, quality and sustainability? • You have already successfully demonstrated your leadership qualities in a comparable position and an international environment and are passionate about promoting and supporting your team.
• You are enthusiastic about modern container architectures such as Kubernetes, automation frameworks (GitLab CI) and also have experience in development with e.g. Python or Go.
• You have several years of operational experience in the above-mentioned technologies.
• You are familiar with business contexts in an IT context.
• You are a strong communicator in English and German.
