Your Impact Starts Here

At Ferring Pharmaceuticals, we are driven by purpose — helping people around the world build families and live better lives. We’re a science-based, people-focused organization committed to innovation in reproductive medicine, gastroenterology, and urology. But behind our mission is our people — bold thinkers, collaborative leaders, and experts in their field.

We are looking for an experienced bioassay professional with a global mindset and leadership ambition to step into a key role within our Global Manufacturing Technology and Science (MTS) organization. This is your opportunity to drive strategic implementation, harmonization and improvementof biological analytical methods across our quality control laboratories within the global manufacturing network — not just by knowing the science, but by knowing how to influence, align, and lead through complexity.

Ferring+You

As the Global Bioassay expert Technical Operations, you will be the go-to expert and strategic driver for biological assays across Ferring’s biologics portfolio. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, manufacturing sites, and third-party partners to ensure our analytical platforms are scientifically robust, compliant, and QC-fit-for-purpose.

This is not a lab-based role. It’s a cross-functional, globally integrated position where you will take ownership of bioassay performance — from transfer and validation to lifecycle management and continuous improvement.

It is a permanent full-time position . The preferred base for this role is Germany (Kiel) .

What You`ll Lead

  • Global alignment and implementation of robust, GMP-compliant biological assay methods (e.g. potency, activity, identity)

  • Strategic oversight of assay transfers, troubleshooting, and performance management across multiple manufacturing sites

  • Cross-site collaboration with Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Development teams to drive excellence in analytical performance

  • External partnerships with contract labs and vendors for method validation, and issue resolution

  • Advocacy of best practices, including contributions to the 3Rs (Reduction, Replacement, Refinement)

  • Lead the Biological assay community of practice and influence across departments and levels, establishing yourself as a recognized thought partner in the organization

Who You Are

You bring more than just expertise in analytical methods. You are a strategic thinker and an effective communicator who excels in complex, global settings. Your deep scientific knowledge is matched by your ability to lead across functions, cultures, and time zones. You have extensive senior-level experience in Quality Control within a Technical Operations framework.

Please note: this position is part of Technical Operations, not R&D, and is not laboratory-based. Operational experience is essential; candidates lacking this background will not be considered.

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline such as Cellular Biology, Virology, or Immunology.

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in biological analytical methods for biologics and large molecules, with strong technical expertise in techniques such as cell-based assays, ELISA, viral titration, and other potency and identity assays.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry operating under cGMP regulations, ICH guidelines, and pharmacopoeia standards.

  • Function efficiently & independently in dynamic environment

  • Strong team player and communication skills required with an ability to interact with individuals and teams at all levels across the organization and the global network.

  • Strong working knowledge of statistics will be highly regarded but is not mandatory.
