Your Responsibilities

Excellent research needs state-of-the-art IT infrastructure and innovative digital services. With a team of about 50 experts, we will redesign ISTA’s digital landscape over the next few years and implement an ambitious digital transformation programme to facilitate the Institute’s rapid growth. Join ISTA on an exciting journey, drive growth and innovation by implementing our ambitious 2026-2030 IT & Digital Transformation Strategy.
As a project manager you will be a key player in reshaping our campus by leading projects such as providing a new digital workplace for our employees, introducing Microsoft 365 as the Institute’s communication and collaboration platform, and upgrading to a high-speed internet connection. Your responsibilities in these projects include:

• Independently planning, managing, and executing sophisticated IT projects, with a focus on launching a cutting-edge digital solution
• Actively engaging all key stakeholders, fostering open, transparent, and solution-focused communication throughout your projects
• Expertly overseeing time, budget, and personnel, driving your projects with strategic insight and cost-effective precision to ensure successful and purposeful outcomes
• Working closely with our IT & Digital Transformation team and key stakeholders across the institute to foster synergies and drive transformation initiatives
• Ensuring that project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards and are aligned with project objectives and strategic goals
• Continuously improving the project management methodology and tools used at the Institute

Your Profile

• Higher education in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Several years of professional experience in project management
• In-depth knowledge of project management methods and tools as well as business process design
• Sound technical background including transformation projects and migration to cloud-based solutions
• Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, IPMA or equivalent)
• Ideally, experience in designing and implementing change management initiatives
• Experience in IT service management and IT security frameworks such as ITIL and ISO 27001 is a plus
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
• You think strategically, act analytically and are solution-oriented, and demonstrate teamwork and resilience
• Experience in research institutes or in universities is an advantage
• Working language is English, good working knowledge in German is a plus
