Our client is an entrepreneurial real estate developer and portfolio holder based in the Rhine/Ruhr region. The company focuses on the development and operation of residential and commercial real estate. At the same time, the group is building up a growing portfolio of existing properties and has an active project pipeline. Our client is in a phase of expansion, the further scaling of its business model and the professionalization of its financial and corporate structure.
At the earliest possible date, we are looking for the head office in NRW:

Managing Director in the holding company and in affiliated companies and subsidiaries
Mission of the role
The CFO shapes the financial architecture of the Group. The aim of the role is to position the Group financially in such a way that project developments, portfolio development and further growth can be financed in a stable manner in the long term. The CFO assumes an entrepreneurial role in the further development of the Group and creates transparency regarding the capital structure, liquidity and economic development of the real estate portfolio.
Core responsibility
Financial strategy and capital structure
- Development of the Group's financial strategy
- Managing the equity and debt capital structure
- Establishing and maintaining long-term banking partnerships
- Structuring of project and portfolio financing
- Development of additional capital partnerships
Financing and investors
- Expansion of the Group's financing network
- Structuring larger financings
- Establishing and maintaining investor contacts
- Structuring potential joint venture partnerships
Controlling and corporate management
- Establishment and further development of an integrated system for corporate and project controlling
- Liquidity planning and cash flow management for the corporate group
- Development of transparent reporting structures
- Profitability analyses for projects and investment decisions
Accounting and financial organization
- Responsibility for the companies' annual financial statements (HGB)
- Structuring and further development of the Group's tax organization
- Consolidation of the corporate structure
- Cooperation with tax consultants and auditors
Portfolio analysis
- Analysis of the economic development of the real estate portfolio
- Support with refinancing
- Evaluation of investment and exit options
Risk management
- Development and management of a system for the early identification and management of financial risks
- Management of interest rate risks
- Management of financing risks
- Management of liquidity risks
- Assessment of project development risks
- Analysis of market changes in the real estate portfolio
Management and development of the finance team
- Establishing, developing and motivating a high-performance finance team to cover the holding company's financial tasks
- Promoting accuracy, reliability, efficiency and continuous improvement of financial processes, especially in the course of digitalization
Objective of the role
- Further expansion of the Group
- Sustainable expansion of the real estate portfolio
- Establishment of stable and long-term financing structures
- Strengthening the Group's economic transparency and management capability
- Creating the financial basis for further growth
Your profile:
- University degree in economics with strong commercial knowledge
- At least 5 years of management experience, with operational CFO experience in a medium-sized environment
- Ideally experience in the real estate environment or a related industry
- Experienced in and change processes, such as digitalization, transformation and growth phases
- Proven several years of experience in successful employee management and development
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data and derive strategic recommendations within the holding structures
- Experience in the project business and the specific financial and technical features involved
- Entrepreneurial thinking and acting, strong implementation skills and cost awareness
- Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities as well as a pragmatic hands-on approach
- The know-how to see the big picture, develop visions and implement them successfully
- You are very familiar with MS products and AI and know the ERP systems for the commercial area
