How You’ll Add Value…

Join the Azenta Finance team as a Senior Accountant (m/f/d) for our Germany Multiomics Business, working with a global team of professionals to support the timely, accurate and insightful preparation of monthly reporting, as well as support annual audits and quarterly reviews and support internal control and compliance initiatives.

You’ll work with a global team and will be exposed to senior management as you develop knowledge about key business issues, support new initiatives, and identify opportunities to leverage technology. Grow personally and professionally while building a network within the life sciences industry!

What You’ll Do…

• Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial results, along with insightful analysis. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly intercompany tie outs, review of monthly consolidated results, the oversight of any unusual transactions, as well as reporting provided to help senior management understand the underlying business drivers.
• Own the monthly cash reconciliation, Payroll and leases in accordance with ASC 842.
• Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns.
• Coordinate with the lab manager on the monthly inventory counts and perform related inventory account reconciliations.
• Participate in regional statutory audit processes to ensure compliance with local, regional and country-specific requirements.
• Ensures adherence to accounting policies and procedures in compliance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Collaborate with the Global Finance Team to standardize and streamline recurring processes and data collection activities, establishing best practices that improve efficiency, and optimize the use of technology.
• Assist in the setup and/ or maintenance of processes, procedures and controls that properly capture, track and report financial results, in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley, U.S. GAAP and company policies.
• Assist with projects in various capacities from the execution of tasks on larger cross functional projects to project management activities on smaller projects.
• Provide support for footnotes disclosure for financial reporting purposes related to applicable general ledger accounts.

What You`ll Bring…

• University´s degree in finance or accounting.
• MBA would be a benefit.
• Several years of relevant professional experience in a similar role is required.
• Profound previous professional work experience in finance, preferably working with (or in) a life sciences or manufacturing company.
• CPA or CA designation preferred.
• Technical working knowledge of HGB (German GAAP), U.S. GAAP/ IFRS , Internal Controls and SEC accounting/reporting rules.
• Ability to understand, review and explain financial results and business drivers.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance regulations.
• Public company experience is preferred but not required.
• NetSuite Experience is preferred but not required. OneStream experience is a plus.
• Creative problem solving and presentation skills.
• Focus on continuous improvement in areas of responsibility to drive transition to "best in class” finance organization.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, or as a team member.
• Strong analytical & interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization.
• Ability to work under pressure and with multiple deadlines.
• A sense of urgency and self-motivation, with a personal commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Ability to strategically work and perform in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate complex information efficiently, accurately, and succinctly.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English and German are mandatory.
