Our Accounting Excellence department serves as an expert function with the Accounting Policy & Advisory (APA) and the Management Accounting (MA) teams. This work, on the one hand, comprises the (e)valuation of business models and portfolio analysis in the context of M&A, project and impairment testing activities under IFRS and German GAAP (HGB), as well as the accounting analysis of strategic business contracts, alongside consultation and technical IFRS work. On the other hand, our experts take care of product costing, framework governance around inventory valuation and value flows, and act as business partners in strategic projects (e.g., in the area of circular economy).

As a Projects Excellence Expert (m/f/d), you will play a key role in driving strategic transformation initiatives and supporting major business transactions, including M&A and portfolio changes. Working at the interface of Accounting, Strategy and Corporate Functions, you will help ensure strong customer focus, transparency, compliance and value creation through early-stage involvement and strong project leadership.

This role offers the opportunity to operate in a highly dynamic and confidential environment, interact with senior leaders across the organization and take ownership of impactful, strategic, global and regional projects.

In addition to our diverse benefits, you can expect an attractive starting salary between €108.600/year and €135.700/year (full time) plus a variable component for a full-time position. The starting salary is based on your qualifications and professional experience.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Independently structure, manage and present key strategic project deliverables to senior stakeholders, including Board representatives

• Coordinate and steer cross-functional transformational projects in close collaboration with corporate function heads and business entities

• Serve as a trusted advisor for Strategy / M&A alongside portfolio initiatives, assessing risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations that serve the company’s long-term interests

• Act as the single point of contact for Accounting during due diligence, expert sessions and contract negotiations

• Conduct and review financial due diligence and support. or lead, the calculation of purchase price allocations (PPA) and carve-out financials

• Align with global and local teams as well as external partners to ensure project timelines and compliance standards are met

• Translate complex financial and reporting implications into clear guidance for internal stakeholders and contribute to best-practice development

Your Profile and Qualifications:

• University degree (Master/Diploma) in Accounting, Auditing or a comparable field

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a global Accounting environment, ideally with M&A and complex project exposure

• Solid expertise in IFRS (especially business combinations, divestitures and financial instruments); experience with German GAAP is a plus

• Proven track record in transaction support, valuation and cross-functional project leadership

• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken

• Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to work independently, confidentially and across cultures and functions

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach to complex project settings
