Abingdon continues to expand its presence across Europe, and the DACH region is a core pillar of our long-term buy-and-hold strategy. As we scale our sourcing team and deepen relationships with founders and advisors, we are hiring a Corporate Development Analyst to support our deal origination efforts in the region. This role is part of our growing international team and reflects our sustained investment in identifying and partnering with mission-critical B2B software companies. This is a fully remote Corporate Development Analyst role focused on sourcing and evaluating B2B software opportunities across the DACH region. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to identify potential acquisitions, map markets, engage founders, and support early-stage deal assessment. It’s a unique chance for a graduate with 1–2 years of experience to join a long-term, buy-and-hold acquirer with a strong track record, meaningful responsibility from day one, and exposure across the full M&A pipeline.
Activities
- Identify and source B2B software acquisition opportunities across the DACH region through market research, outbound outreach, and relationship-building.
- Support the team by reviewing initial company information, financials, and market data and fit with Abingdon’s investment criteria.
- Support market mapping projects to deepen our understanding of specific verticals and competitive landscapes.
- Engage with founders, advisors, and industry stakeholders as part of the early deal origination process.
- Help create short summaries and internal notes so senior colleagues can quickly evaluate new opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across sourcing, corporate development, and operations to ensure smooth handover of opportunities through the M&A pipeline.
- Maintain and update internal CRM and sourcing tracking tools to ensure pipeline visibility and data quality.
Requirements
- Recently graduated or up to 1–2 years of experience in finance, consulting, corporate development, private equity, sales, or business development.
- Strong interest in M&A, B2B software, and understanding how companies grow.
- Comfortable speaking with founders and advisors, with a confident and professional communication style.
- Good analytical skills and ability to understand business models and basic financial metrics.
- Proactive, curious, and able to work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (both required).
- Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple conversations and tasks at the same time.
- Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides, and CRM systems — or a willingness to learn quickly.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work closely with Abingdon’s sourcing, corporate development, and execution teams to ensure a smooth handover of qualified opportunities.
Team
The new hire will join Abingdon Software Group’s Corporate Development, sourcing team, a collaborative, internationally minded group focused on identifying and engaging high-quality B2B software companies. The team is primarily based in London and Madrid, working closely with Abingdon’s corporate development execution team throughout the M&A process.
Although the role is fully remote, the successful candidate will be expected to travel to London regularly for team meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration.
The sourcing team maintains a supportive culture with regular communication, shared learning, and direct exposure to senior leadership. Analysts are encouraged to contribute ideas early, develop strong commercial instincts, and grow within a team that values curiosity, teamwork, and long-term development.
