The Faculty of Medicine is an integral part of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and cooperates with the Magdeburg University Hospital A.ö.R. in research, teaching and patient care. The latest findings in medical research and state-of-the-art equipment are used in diagnostic procedures and patient care. Major research priorities include Immunology, Cell- and Immunotherapy , and Neurosciences.
The laboratory of Prof. Dr. Dimitrios Mougiakakos is seeking a highly motivated postdoctor-al researcher to join our dynamic team. Our group is embedded in a broader institutional strategy with a strong interest in cell and immune therapy. We study the bidirectional interac-tions between tumor cells and their microenvironment, with a focus on immune cells, stromal components, and their metabolic communication. One central aim is to identify novel therapeu-tic targets for next-generation immune and cellular therapies .

Your activities and responsibilities:
- Conduct a translational research project in the field of tumor immunology Apply and further develop cellular and molecular biology methods Work with preclinical in vitro and in vivo models Supervise and mentor MSc/MD/PhD students Collaborate with national and international research partners Present your results at scientific meetings Publish your findings in high-quality peer-reviewed journals
Qualification profile:
- PhD in biology, biochemistry, molecular medicine, or a related field Strong track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals Solid experience in one or more of the following: tumor immunology, cell therapy, immune metabolism or genetic engineering Experience with in vivo models and FELASA B/C certification is a plus Highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to scientific excellence Proficiency in English (German not required)
