The Mannheim Medical Faculty of Heidelberg University is looking for a full-time, initially fixed-term for 3 years, starting on December 1, 2025:
PostDoc (f/m/d)
For a 3-year project funded by the Else Kröner-Fresenius Foundation, we are looking for a committed postdoctoral researcher who would like to join Dr. Ekaterina Legchenko's research group. The project focuses on the modulation of fibroblast differentiation in the context of right ventricular pressure overload, both with and without pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). The aim is to use modern molecular biological methods and in vivo models to investigate the role of fibroblastic plasticity in cardiac remodeling and loss of function.
Your role:
- Independent work on the research project in collaboration with physicians, biologists, and TAs
- Collaboration with intramural, national, and international cooperation partners
- Conducting animal experiments in heart failure models, establishing new methods
- Writing publications on the topic and presenting at international conferences and meetings
Your profile:
- Completed doctorate in natural sciences and enjoyment of basic and translational research
- At least one first authorship in a peer-reviewed journal
- Previous experience in cardiovascular basic research (advantageous but not required)
- Very good written and spoken English skills, as well as reliability, commitment, determination, and strong organizational skills
- FELASA certificate (required), Module C desirable
