The Mission of the Sr. AIT Engineer

As an AIT Engineer you will enable the reliable integration, verification, and delivery of satellites from design to orbit-ready readiness.

You serve as a senior technical contributor ensuring spacecraft are assembled, integrated, and tested to the highest standards. Success means owning outcomes, staying deeply hands-on, and ensuring every satellite meets mission and schedule objectives.

Expected Outcomes (12-18 months)

• Satellites are integrated, tested, and delivered on schedule with no critical non-conformances.
• Subsystem interfaces and configurations remain consistent, verified, and traceable across all builds.
• System-level test campaigns are completed successfully with all pass criteria met and minimal re-testing.
• Integration issues are rapidly resolved, with root causes identified and corrective actions applied.
• AIT documentation is accurate, current, and reliably used by the production team.
• Continuous improvements yield measurable gains in integration time, test cycle efficiency, or defect reduction.

Responsibilities

• Lead satellite assembly, integration, and test (AIT) activities across missions.
• Guide system-level verification and validation, including functional, environmental, and EMC testing.
• Coordinate troubleshooting with design, manufacturing, and test teams to maintain schedule and quality.
• Provide hands-on support during assembly, harness routing, alignment, and test execution.
• Maintain and improve AIT procedures, integration plans, and configuration records.
• Drive improvements in integration efficiency, test robustness, and build reliability.

Role-specific competences

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in the integration, testing, or production of complex hardware systems (e.g., satellites, aerospace).
• Deep technical expertise in at least one discipline (e.g. avionics, mechanical integration, electrical systems, or RF)
• Strong system-level mindset, able to understand how subsystems interact, anticipate integration challenges, and maintain end-to-end traceability.
• Familiarity with test and verification processes, environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMC), and configuration management.
