We are seeking, by June 1, 2026 an architect or designer to join our teaching and dissemination activities in the field of bioregional architecture and design. The position is particularly aimed at candidates with experi-ence in material and design research, ideally with a background in interdisciplinary contexts.
For our team we are looking for part-time (70%)

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) is one of Europe’s leading universities. The Professorship of
Architecture and Design, led by Prof. Niklas Fanelsa, focuses on regenerative transformation in the built
environment, that connect bioregional material cycles, local value creation and an economy of commoning.
Role Overview
Contributing to material-focused teaching in Bachelor and Master programs in
(Design studios, seminars, practice-based formats)
Lead-role in key dissemination formats, such as international publications, conferences and exhibitions
Contribution to spatial design development in demonstrators, prototypes,
and material-driven architectural applications
Contributing to the further development of the professorship (e.g. Bioregional Design Lab, Material Library)
Supporting organizational and communication tasks in teaching
Close collaboration with research team in the field of regenerative design
(material cultures, regional value chains, demonstrators, design development)
Profile
A Master’s degree in Architecture, Design, or a related field with
at least 2 years of experience in professional or academic context
Experience in leading teaching formats (workshops, seminars, design studios)
Motivation and confidence to guide curious architecture and design students
Initial dissemination formats (exhibitions, events, publications)
First editorial or curatorial experience in the field of architecture and design
Knowledge of regenerative materials and their application in the built environment
Ability to work independently in an academic context, combined with team orientation
and a strong sense of responsibility
Experience in practice-based research and/or interdisciplinary project teams
Interest in regenerative design in the field of the built environment,
as well as in experimental and transdisciplinary approaches
Strong design skills in project development and in communicating results
Experience in architectural or spatial design within research or practice contexts
First experience in prototype construction, mock-ups, or pilot-scale design tests
Excellent project management and team coordination skills
Proven ability to engage with community stakeholders and integrate feedback into design processes.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
