Your Role
As a Data Scientist in Operations, you will be at the forefront of optimizing how FINN manages and scales its operational infrastructure. You will leverage advanced forecasting and optimization models to predict capacity needs, drive efficient resource distribution, and solve operationally critical challenges that directly impact the business. Your work will uncover hidden patterns, validate the impact of operational strategies, and deliver actionable recommendations to the operations team. Your Responsibilities
- Generate data-driven insights: Perform in-depth data analyses to understand operational patterns, capacity dynamics, and resource utilization, delivering actionable insights that drive efficiency improvements.
- Build and validate proof-of-concepts: Develop POCs for innovative operational strategies, test and validate their impact on key performance metrics.
- Design and own advanced optimization models: Create and maintain forecasting and optimization models using machine learning and operations research techniques to ensure scalable and efficient operations.
- Shape and evolve operational strategy: Leverage your analytical expertise to refine and enhance FINN's operational processes, ensuring alignment with growth targets and business objectives.
- Collaborate: Partner with other data and tech teams as well as operations stakeholders in a cross-functional setup and align your work with business objectives.
Your Profile
- Graduated with a Master's degree in a relevant data field of study (e.g., Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Applied mathematics), a PhD is a plus.
- 3+ years of professional experience in operations-heavy environments (preferably logistics, supply chain, mobility, or e-commerce fulfillment).
- Technical expertise: Proven track record in data and time-series analysis, statistical modelling, and implementing forecasting and optimization models from scratch.
- Proficient in Agentic development.
- Proficient in the data stack: SQL, Python, GCP.
- Operations & optimization expertise: Experience in building and deploying capacity planning, resource allocation, or logistics optimization solutions end-to-end.
- Stakeholder engagement: Skilled at presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including C-level.
- Problem-solving: Exceptional ability to break down complex operational problems and develop data-driven solutions.
- Flexibility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to changing priorities – operations doesn't wait.
- Fluent in English. German is a plus.
€69,000 - €80,000 a year
Factors that may influence an employee's pay within this range include, but are not limited to, their experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, education level, seniority, and performance. The compensation for this role will be within the range of €69,000 - €80,000 + VSOP, depending on the factors described above, as assessed during the interview process. This is the lowest and highest salary that we in good faith believe to be fair for this role at the time of this posting. This compensation range may be subject to change in the future.
