Job Description
GEVAS software GmbH offers intelligent software solutions and services related to public transport, road traffic, mobility, and information management, working on behalf of municipal and government agencies, transport companies, and business customers. At its headquarters in Munich and its branches in Kassel, Linz, and Krakow, approximately 40 employees develop software solutions in these areas.
Do you want to not only administer systems, but also actively contribute to their further development and stability? We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to orchestrate, operate, and continuously optimize our Java services and .NET applications on Windows VMs .
The maintenance and patches of the Windows systems are not your main focus, but support your actual task: ensuring the stable, automated and traceable operation of our application landscape .
Your activity
- Orchestration, operation, and monitoring of Java and .NET applications on Windows VMs
- Building and maintaining GitLabCI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and tests
- Automating recurring tasks with PowerShell, shell scripts , and Ansible
- Monitoring services and system status with modern monitoring solutions
- Support with error diagnosis, troubleshooting, and system stabilization Second-level support during office hours (without on-call service)
- Administration and patch management of Windows VMs (supporting)
- Basic support of SQL Server databases and Linux VMs (basic level)
- Opportunity to participate in projects related to cloud architecture, infrastructure design and security
Requirements profile
- Several years of experience in operating Windows-based application environments
- Solid knowledge of orchestrating Java and/or .NET services
- Experience with CI/CD workflows , preferably in GitLab
- Good knowledge of PowerShell , supplemented by basic knowledge of Linux shell (bash/zsh)
- Initial experience with Ansible or comparable automation tools
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server and Linux administration
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or similar solutions
- Ability to work independently and analytical thinking skills
- Enjoyment of teamwork and good communication skills
- Very good German (spoken and written), basic English skills
What you bring with you
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
- Experience with container technologies (e.g. Docker)
- Insights into cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, VMware)
- Interest in topics such as service security, system hardening and infrastructure architecture
