Your New Role...
As the Germany Discovery + (D+) Merchandising Specialist, you will shape how audiences in Germany experience content on D+. Reporting to the Regional Markets Lead, you will maximise content discoverability and engagement by tailoring global strategies to the local market. With a strong focus on consumer behaviour and local content, you will help create a seamless and personalised experience for German audiences.
Your Role Accountabilities...
Oversee day-to-day operations of the German homepage, including merchandising local originals and country-specific content.
Execute select pan-European pages in partnership with the EMEA Merchandising team.
Use CMS and personalisation tools to deliver optimised, data-informed content experiences.
Work with Campaigns, Sports, CRM, and Marketing teams to align merchandising with broader initiatives.
Troubleshoot and resolve high-priority operational issues to ensure smooth platform performance.
Adapt global and regional strategies to reflect local market needs and cultural moments.
Develop merchandising strategies for local originals programming and local acquisition campaigns.
Provide actionable insights by evaluating performance data and offering recommendations.
Engage with stakeholders across Marketing, Content, and other functions as the main German merchandising contact.
Contribute to continuous improvement by enhancing workflows, tooling, and best practices across EMEA.
Qualifications & Experience...
Language Skills: Fluency in English and German.
Content Expertise: Strong knowledge of local content, WBD’s catalogue, and the wider market landscape.
Critical Thinking: Skilled at interpreting performance metrics and adapting merchandising or content strategies based on insights.
Consumer Focus: Dedicated to creating personalised experiences that strengthen engagement.
Operational Excellence: Proven experience in digital merchandising, CMS tools, and workflow optimisation.
Communication Skills: Effective at working with cross-functional teams across Scheduling, Marketing, Content Ops, Engineering, and beyond.
