At WaterWeb we are interested in exploring blue-green interactions under land use change. In 3 sites in Germany we will sample macroinvertebrates in rivers next to agricultural plots in a land use gradient. At the same time we plan to sample for eDNA and to do an environmental assessment.
Tasks
• Participate in fieldwork end of April-May and September-October (total 8 weeks, possible less time).
• Sample and sort macroinvertebrates
• Build nets for decomposition experiments
• Identify plants and collect some for barcoding
• Collect soil samples
Profile
To be part of this project your should be enrolled as a BSc or MSc student in biology, ecology, environmental or agricultural sciences. You should have a strong interest in aquatic ecology. You should have a careful and reliable working style.
Important: You need to have a valid driver´s license in Germany during the whole time of fieldwork and a liability insurance.
