Role Overview
EUSMS is seeking a proactive and organized Grant Manager (Volunteer) to lead our global grant efforts—from sourcing and applying for funding opportunities to monitoring results and co-collaborating on M&E and compliance topics. This is a strategic volunteer role at the heart of our financial resource mobilization efforts, helping fund EUSMS five main operational programs, for east africa East Africa.
You’ll work closely with the CFO and a small team (2–4 volunteers) to manage the entire grant lifecycle. You'll use Odoo CRM and the Microsoft 365 suite (especially Lists, SharePoint, and Outlook) to coordinate submissions, track pipeline progress, and manage documentation. Strong collaboration with field teams in Kenya and Uganda will be essential for building localized, evidence-based applications.
Tasks
Grant Discovery & Pipeline Management
- Identify and prioritize high-potential funding opportunities aligned with our mission
- Maintain a structured grant tracker using Odoo 18 Community Modules
- E.g. keep a tacker with websites, login details, records of application cycles, deadlines, eligibility, and outcomes
Proposal Coordination & Submission
- Coordinate data collection (budgets, metrics, testimonials) across teams
- Lead or support the writing, editing, and tailoring of proposals
- Make fit-gap analysis with donor requirements and EUSMS capabilities, and submission protocols
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Collaborate with the M&E Officer, IT, Program & Operations in E. Africa, CFO and CEO
- Ensure reporting schedules and obligations are tracked in Odoo
- Collaborate with M&E Office to submit interim and final donor reports as needed
Requirements
Key “To-Have” Skills
- Fluency in English (required); German or Swahili strongly preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with CRM systems (especially Odoo) and Microsoft 365 tools
- Organizational and project management skills; comfortable managing multiple deadlines
- Bonus: Previous experience with international development or nonprofit grants
- Bonus: Ability to do deep web research to find grant portals.
