We are offering a master’s thesis opportunity for a motivated and talented student to explore the potential of replacing a physical sensor in an electromechanical brake control system with an AI-supported model. The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the technical feasibility, performance, and safety implications of such a replacement, using real-world data and simulation environments.

YOUR TASKS

  • Understanding the role and characteristics of the target sensor within the brake control system
  • Collecting and analyzing sensor data to identify patterns and dependencies.
  • Designing and training AI models (e.g., regression, neural networks) to replicate sensor behavior
  • Evaluating model performance under various operating conditions
  • Assessing the reliability, latency, and safety aspects of the AI-based approach
  • Documenting findings and providing recommendations for potential integration

YOUR PROFILE

  • Enrolled in a Master’s program in Computer Science, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
  • Programming skills in Python and C
  • Proficient in English and German
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Independent, structured, and reliable working style
