Aufgabengebiet

The position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial accounting, statutory compliance and effective financial control for Polish & German legal entities within a large, global organization. The role partners closely with regional finance teams, business stakeholders and external advisors to deliver high-quality financial reporting, maintain strong governance standards and support ongoing operational excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and oversee period-end close activities for Polish entities in accordance with US GAAP, Polish GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with shared service centers, treasury and regional finance teams to ensure accurate recording of expenses, funding activities and accounting transactions
• Prepare, review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations in line with internal control standards
• Record and review accruals, foreign exchange remeasurements, interest calculations and other period-end adjustments
• Manage intercompany accounting activities, including reconciliations and intercompany invoicing
• Ensure compliance with transfer pricing requirements in accordance with intercompany agreements
• Deliver monthly financial results for management reporting and statutory accounting purposes
• Provide accounting guidance and oversight to the local business to ensure adherence to corporate policies, accounting standards and statutory requirements
• Partner with FP&A, Operations and other functions to resolve accounting matters, strengthen internal controls and improve process efficiency
• Lead and support finance transformation, process optimization and change initiatives in collaboration with senior stakeholders
• Manage the coordination of external audits, including preparation of statutory financial statements and supporting documentation
• Liaise with external professional service providers to ensure timely preparation and filing of statutory financial reports
• Maintain oversight of local VAT accounting and reporting obligations
• Ensure compliance with Polish regulatory reporting requirements in coordination with external advisors
• Collaborate with regional finance hubs and European controllership teams to deliver consistent controllership outcomes
• Support potential expansion of responsibilities to additional Polish legal entities as the organization evolves

Anforderungsprofil

• Fluency in Polish and professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken
• Progressive experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting within a large, multinational corporate environment
• Strong technical knowledge of Polish GAAP and statutory financial reporting requirements
• Proven ability to manage complex workloads, meet deadlines and operate effectively under pressure
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
• Ability to apply sound judgment while balancing business objectives, compliance and risk considerations
• Experience working within matrixed, international and culturally diverse organizations
• Proactive and self-directed mindset with a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement
• Experience leading or contributing to process improvement and change initiatives
• Exposure to finance systems implementations or process migrations
• Advanced user knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and other common ERP systems
