What you can expect as a Wohntraumerfüller*in:
You will drive quality, technical improvements and the development of new features, thus contributing to the further development of our business model.
You will take responsibility for the entire development cycle from testing to go-live.
You will ensure the stability and efficiency of our microservice infrastructure and be responsible for the follow-up of incidents.
You will ensure the continuous improvement of the developer experience in the company by providing tools, standards and best practices.

What you bring with you as a Wohntraumerfüller*in:
Several years of professional experience in software development and with rapidly scaling and complex systems.
Solid knowledge of Java and Apache Kafka, as well as experience with DevOps tools.
Strong communication skills, a solution-oriented approach, and a team player mentality are required.
Fluent written and spoken German and English skills are required.

I started as a working student in the "Configuration Excellence" squad and originally supported the squad with front-end development. I now work primarily in the backend. The main task of our squad is to develop a basic framework that allows other squads to configure their features. In this way, we provide the basis for creating permissions and configurations. I particularly like the diversity of decisions that we as a squad have to make every day, for example with regard to the architecture of our services. The harmonious collaboration, knowledge transfer and mutual support within the squad drive the achievement of personal as well as joint goals, which is very motivating for me.

Since the beginning of 2022, I have been working at the Interhyp Group as a Senior Engineer in the UI area. My main task is to further develop the market overview area in the financing process. I work together with my colleagues from backend engineering, product development, quality assurance and UX design. We create concepts, identify optimization measures and develop new features. As a UI Engineer, my job is to be a link between UX design and backend API in order to find appropriate solutions that connect the two worlds. Therefore, the tasks in this role are very diverse. It's this constant variety that makes every day fun and prevents boredom from setting in.

We ensure that it functions smoothly and delights our users. At Interhyp, I particularly like the "you build it - you own it - you run it" spirit, which means that we operate and develop almost the entire technology stack of our website ourselves. From the frontend and backend to deployment in Kubernetes, we are building a future-proof architecture, which is simply a lot of fun.

Frontend
TypeScript: It really shows its strengths in combination with React. It's very popular both in the frontend and the backend.
React: We use React on the frontend. We were particularly impressed with its performance.
Backend
Java: For microservices with complex logic, our teams use Spring Boot in conjunction with Java.
Kotlin: We sometimes use Kotlin as an alternative to Java for server-side solutions.
Spring Boot: A great framework that makes working with Java and Kotlin much easier for us.
NodeJS: We also use Typescript with NodeJS on the backend. Especially with our microservice architecture and scaffolding, it's fast and super easy to use.
Service & Tools
ArgoCD: We used ArgoCD to deploy our microservices in Kubernetes quickly and efficiently.
Apache Kafka: Ensures all asynchronous communication between our microservices.
Vault: This is where all our secrets are stored securely.
Terraform: Terraform is our first choice for deploying our applications to the Azure Cloud.
Databases & Hosting
Oracle: When we need to store larger and more complex data structures, we use the Oracle Database.
MongoDB: For our microservices, leaner databases like MongoDB are clearly advantageous and therefore very popular with the development teams.
Kubernetes: Thanks to Kubernetes, orchestrating our containers is easy for all of us. Administration and scaling are therefore no problem.
Azure: We're moving! New address: the Azure Cloud. Our goal is to give our entire platform a new home.
