As a Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d), you'll join a growing team tackling real industrial problems across manufacturing, R&D, commercial, supply chain, and other functions. Beyond delivering solutions yourself, you'll define how we structure our data science work, from hypothesis development to deployment, ensuring we solve the right problems in the right way. We're looking for someone with depth across multiple ML paradigms who can match problems to appropriate techniques, stays current with the field, and prefers pragmatic solutions to impressive-sounding approaches.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning solutions across manufacturing, commercial, R&D, and supply chain
- Translate business pain points into data science solutions that address root causes
- Define best-practice standards and establish methodology for hypothesis-driven DS development
- Stay current with ML developments and guide team on emerging techniques and method selection
- Mentor a team of data scientists through code reviews, approach discussions, and hands-on guidance
- Drive problem framing and solution architecture in cross-functional teams, challenging assumptions and quantifying value
- Build robust modular pipelines enabling reusable ML components
- Review modeling approaches, ensuring scientific rigor and business relevance
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or similar quantitative field
- 5+ years of experience delivering end-to-end machine learning projects across multiple ML paradigms (supervised/unsupervised learning, optimization, causal inference, etc.)
- Track record of staying current with ML research and applying novel techniques
- Experience in industrial or complex problem environments where data quality and constraints matter
- Strong proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch), SQL, and data orchestration
- Strong analytical mindset combining structured thinking and pragmatic problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills with a proactive ownership approach
- Cloud experience (AWS preferred) & MLOps familiarity is a plus
- Experience integrating and working with data from complex enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, manufacturing/process systems, quality databases, etc.) is a plus
