You’ll make an impact by

• Semantic Discovery & Knowledge Extraction:
• Lead workshops with stakeholders to extract domain concepts, relationships and operational insights, transforming "tribal knowledge” into formal semantic structures.
• Translate processes, pain points and business logic into unified semantic models, identifying inconsistencies across hubs.
• Designing Conceptual Ontologies & Structures:
• Create domain-specific conceptual ontologies, mapping processes, entities and relationships.
• Develop reusable patterns, templates and semantic modeling guidelines designed to scale across departments.
• Align semantic models with DS service portfolios and AI use cases.
• Advisory for AI, Automation & Process Transformation:
• Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, product teams and business units, identifying use cases where ontology enhances AI reasoning, process harmonization and decision automation.
• Communicate the strategic importance of semantics within AI transformation initiatives, helping bridge the gap between business needs and GenAI solutions.
• Governance & Standards:
• Establish modeling standards, governance processes and semantic conventions.
• Maintain the semantic "single source of truth” within key domains, ensuring scalability and accuracy.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner with data engineers and technical graph modeling teams to ensure seamless handover from business conceptual models to technical implementations.
• Validate technical ontology builds against business meaning and operational accuracy.
• Evangelism & Capability Building:
• Train teams on semantic modeling, best practices and the strategic value of ontology.
• Expand the Ontology Community of Practice across Siemens.
• Enable globally consistent semantic frameworks that scale across the GBS ecosystem.

This is how you'll win us over

• Education: Master’s degree in Systems Thinking, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
• Experience & Skills:
• Extensive professional experience in consulting, business architecture, semantic modeling or process management.
• Proven ability to conceptualize complex systems and communicate their meaning in simple, logical frameworks.
• Extensive experience conducting workshops, requirements engineering or business analysis.
• Solid understanding of enterprise processes like AP, Procurement, Order Management, HR and Finance.
• Familiarity with AI and automation initiatives, specifically how semantics enhance their functionality.
• Ways of working:
• Outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking skills, paired with a strong ability to structure meaning and create logical relationships.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, particularly in cross-functional and international environments.
• Proactive approach to challenges with a focus on structured problem-solving and knowledge building.
• Comfortable explaining complex concepts, facilitating discussions and managing information architecture.
• Languages: Fluent English is essential; German proficiency is a strong advantage.
• Nice-to-Have:
• Exposure to semantic modeling tools or frameworks like BPMN, UML, taxonomies, and domain models.
• Conceptual knowledge of GenAI, such as RAG, knowledge graphs, or AI agents.
• Familiarity with tools such as Miro, Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration platforms.
