Solution Specialist (Domino / Notes Architecture & Platform) (f/m/d)

Mission

The Solution Specialist (Domino / Notes Architecture & Platform) (f/m/d) plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction and project success by supporting clients in their digitalization journey for construction projects. They contribute to the development and implementation of technical solutions that meet customer requirements and drive efficiency and productivity.

Main Responsibilities

Domino / Notes Architecture & Platform

• In-depth knowledge of the HCL Domino server architecture, including Names, Administration, Mail and Application servers
• Very good understanding of replication mechanisms, replication conflicts and replication design concepts
• Solid understanding of the Notes database structure (NSF), design elements and their interaction
• Very good knowledge of ACLs, roles, reader and author fields, including their security implications
• Experience working in multi-server environments and distributed Domino landscapes

Development & Customisation

• Very good programming skills in NotesScript, including object-oriented concepts, error handling and performance optimisation
• Very good knowledge of Notes Formula Language for UI logic, validations and computed fields
• Experience in developing and optimising agents (scheduled, event-driven and server-side)
• Experience with time-controlled processes and server-side background jobs
• Strong experience working with forms, views, folders and framesets, including performance and design considerations

Workflow & Process Control

• Extensive experience in the technical implementation of complex workflow applications
• Experience with status-based processes, escalation logic and automated notifications
• Proven experience in modelling and implementing business-critical processes within Notes/Domino
• Knowledge of versioning, maintenance and lifecycle management of productive workflows

Document & Data Processing

• Experience in the dynamic generation, structuring and conversion of PDF documents
• Experience with automated document processing, including attachments, metadata handling, archiving and technical implementation of billing-relevant logic

Integration & Domain Knowledge

• Technical understanding of processes in large-scale construction projects and their implementation in Domino applications
• Experience in the BIM environment, particularly in the structured processing of project-related data
• Experience integrating project-specific data models into existing Notes applications

Operations & Quality

• Experience in error analysis, performance optimisation and maintenance of Domino applications
• Confident handling of logs, monitoring and troubleshooting
• Experience in the further development and modernisation of legacy Notes applications

• Application configuration and installation: Configure the application (data model, modules, settings, etc.) and manage the installation process to ensure it aligns with customer requirements.
• Implementation of technical solutions: Implement tailored technical solutions according to customer needs and specifications.
• Testing and quality assurance: Test the customized solutions from a user’s perspective and document the testing procedures to ensure thorough quality assurance.
• Issue tracking and solution improvement: Track, document, and manage customer issues, work with development teams to find quick solutions, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of the solution’s quality.
• Support in solution design: Collaborate with the responsible Consultant to help design customized technical solutions that meet specific customer requirements.
• Solution modification and troubleshooting: Collaborate with the responsible Consultant to make necessary changes and extensions to the implemented solutions, addressing any issues that arise during the project.
• Technical advisor for consulting teams: Act as a key technical resource for the Consulting teams, providing valuable insights and expertise to support their work.
• Technical documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation that supports the project and ensures a clear record of processes and decisions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams across the organization, including (pre)sales, Technical Consultants, and product teams, to provide technical expertise and ensure seamless project delivery

• English Language skills are a plus
• Aptitude and ability to understand and configure software solutions.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to document procedures accurately.
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow in the field of solution implementation and support.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with construction industry processes and terminology is a plus.
