Student Assistant (UI/UX Tester) – Koinon @ TUM
Start date: mid-March / early April
Working mode: full remote, full in office, or hybrid
Contract: up to 20 hours per week
We are looking to hire one Student Assistant (UI/UX Tester)(male, female, diverse) to support the Koinon team at the Technical University of Munich.
Koinon is a central administrative platform used daily across TUM to support complex academic and administrative processes. As a UI/UX Tester, you will help ensure that the platform is usable, accessible, and consistent across different user groups and workflows.
What you will work on
- Testing user interfaces and interaction flows in a large production web application
- Identifying usability issues, inconsistencies, and edge cases
- Reviewing new features from a UI/UX perspective before release
- Supporting usability testing with real users (e.g. School Offices, chairs, students)
- Documenting findings clearly and discussing them with developers and product owners
- Helping to improve accessibility, clarity, and overall user experience
What we are looking for
- Students with previous experience in UI, UX, usability testing, or a related field
- Experience gained through studies, student jobs, projects, or internships
- A strong attention to detail and a structured, analytical working style
- Ability to articulate usability problems clearly and constructively
- Interest in user-centered design in a complex, real-world environment
Experience or qualifications that are particularly useful
- Practical experience with usability testing or heuristic evaluations
- Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles (e.g. usability, accessibility, consistency)
- Experience with tools such as Figma, FigJam, Miro, or similar
- Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (e.g. WCAG) is a plus
- Relevant certifications or courses (e.g. UX/UI, HCI, Interaction Design, usability testing)
